Wild Survivor Team Challenge

Find Your Inner Bear Grylls or Ray Mears

Survival Courses in Yorkshire, Lake District, Peak District and Wales

Crossing river by ropesYour plane goes down, deep in the rugged mountain wilderness, amongst cliffs, rivers and ravines. With only a few clues the pilot gave you before the accident, and the equipment from your luggage, you need to find your way back to population.

Mountain view

This sounds easy… well it’s not. You’ll need to pin point where you are on a map using clues and you’ll need to navigate using the landscape and watercourses. There are large cliffs to descend by abseil and ravines to cross, getting wet is not an option, you’ll have to use ropes to set up a Tyrollean Traverse – picture above. You’ll need to make and light a fire and cook a meal from whatever’s around you using only bits salvaged from your aircraft’s wreckage.
Gutting a fish

While on your hike; a member of your team needs medical attention! What will you do? How will you get to safety and how will you get out? You’ll need to provide first aid, improvise a stretcher and carry your casualty to safety using whatever you have in your surroundings.

We’ll cook and eat something from the wild, this will be some form of vegetation foraged from the undergrowth. Fish, rabbit or pheasants can be provided on request.

Welsh mountains

The day will be led by our senior expedition leaders, who will guide you through the necessary skills to flourish in this challenging journey. You’ll be introduced to bushcraft and survival skills throughout the day, working as a team to overcome adversity. We will provide you with an introductory brief and outline of the challenge, before setting off for your adventure into the wild. All equipment and tools required for the day are provided.

Reviews

Cat Davys, Matalan Board of Directors
“Nothing but amazingly positive feedback from the board about the event. All really enjoyed it, felt that the guys you sent did an amazing job with Sam being particularly good at flexing into pulling out some of the behavioural things the group wanted to work on.

The event was high quality, great pitch and ultimately they all felt very safe. Even the board member who was reserving his right to not take part got fully involved in everything (as you predicted he would).

All in all, it was a great event. Thanks so much for all your support.”
