The Matlock Madness Challenge

Cycle, Abseil and Paddle Your way to Matlock

Journey from Hartington to Matlock on this Unique Peak District Experience!

Cycling
Go on a mad adventure across the limestone hills of the Peak District. Your journey starts on two wheels, cycling out of of Hartington, before a thrilling free-hanging abseil takes you 100ft back down to earth. The finale is a fast paced paddle on the River Derwent, one of England’s best river journeys.

Abseiling-Millers-Dale-Peaks

If you want a challenge, a thrill and an insanely good time in the Peak District National Park, The Matlock Madness is the event for you.

Cycle along 45km of former railway lines, such as the Monsal and High Peak Trail, through tunnels and along deep limestone valleys of the River Wye through breathtaking countryside.

This adventure gives you the chance to abseil over the giant arches of Millers Dale Viaduct above the River Wye. A 100 foot free hanging abseil directly above the river! It’s high, it’s scary, there is nothing beneath your feet… and remember to bring some spare underpants!

Hen Cload

All aboard! Paddle your way down 4.5 miles of Derwent water between Darley Dale and Matlock Bath. This is an adventure that sees you paddle though stunning Peak District countryside while taking on the Derwent rapids – small grade white water named Town Falls and Flip Bridge.
