Below is a showcase of crags to give a taste of what the Lake District offers, yet there are venues to suit all abilities so allow us to help you choose the best experience possible.

Scout Crag
Set in the heart of the Lake District, the Langdales offer many south facing crags to catch the sun all day long. There is climbing for everyone in this peaceful setting, from Scout Crag which provides an excellent assortment of climbs for the beginner to epic scrambles on Jakes Rake. The Langdales are only a short scenic drive from Ambleside.
Gimmer Crag and Raven Crag
Gimmer Crag and Raven Crag offer some of the best multi-pitch climbing in the heart of the Lake District. Amazing climbs with views of the mountains and lakes, it doesn’t get better than this! Routes for all abilities and great variety in length provides options for all. After a day on the rock, why not celebrate your achievements at the Old Inn at the base of Raven Crag?
Hutton Roof
Hutton Roof’s pristine limestone is great for groups of beginner climbers or abseilers, or experienced climbers focused more on technique than adrenaline. It’s in a pretty area and the rock is of outstanding quality but quite short at 8m (25ft). It’s only 45-mins drive to the other crags on this page or 20-mins to Twistleton Scar in the Yorkshire Dales if you want something higher.
Scramble and Multi-Pitch
We also offer full mountain experiences throughout the Lake District. If you want to summit a peak via a rocky ridge or climb an epic multi-pitch vertical wall hundreds of metres high, our instructors can accommodate your ambitions.
