MAD 2 Itinerary

Choose from the following options:

• 10:00: Meet for a briefing, then either:
• 10:20-13:00: Canoeing or caving
• 13:00-13:40: Lunch on the hillside or on the water
• 13:40-14:00: Drive to:
• 14:00-17:00: Gorge walking

MAD 3 Itinerary

Choose from the following options:

• 10:00: Meet in Hathersage for a briefing and drive to:
• 10:20-13:00: Climbing & abseiling
• 13:00-13:40: Lunch on the hillside
• 13:40-14:00: Drive to either
• 14:00-17:00: Gorge walking or canoeing or caving

MAD 4 Itineraries

Choose any of these combos:

• 10:00-18:00-hrs: Climb, abseil, cave, gorge
• 10:00-18:00-hrs: Climb, abseil, cave, canoe
• 10:00-18:00-hrs: Climb, abseil, canoe, gorge

What to Expect

Rock Climbing: Gritstone climbing at the iconic Stanage edge. Push yourself, reach the top, be rewarded with spectacular views over the Hope Valley.

Abseiling: It’s time for Mission Impossible! Get your adrenalin coursing as you abseil back down to terra firma with as much flair and speed as you can muster.

Gorge Walking: Don your wetsuit and walk, scramble, climb and jump in an ancient freshwater gorge. You’ll traverse ancient rock, with slides, chutes, waterfalls and whirlpools.

Caving: Prepare to get muddy as you delve into the wild subterranean world of Bagshawe Cavern. Additional MAD points available for those crazy enough to take on the challenge of squeezing themselves through The Masher!

Canoeing: Less MAD, more like a saunter, unless you throw someone in, then they may get real MAD! However, if it’s a warm day you could swim in the deep, deep middle from the safety of your Canadian canoe.
