Welcome to Kathmandu, enchanting and exotic, it is a city immersed with ancient temples and tradition! Fused with colourful markets and the bustle of spice sellers and merchants, Kathmandu with its exhilarating allure is a city you won’t forget!
You’ll be met at the airport by your guide and transferred to your hotel. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore the streets and markets. In the evening we’ll have dinner at a local restaurant.

Discover why the Kathmandu Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as we explore three culturally diverse temples within the city. High on a hilltop above Kathmandu is the magnificent Swayambutinath (“Monkey Temple”), used by both Hindus and Buddhists, and known for its many holy monkeys! Along the banks of the Bagmati River lies Pashupatinath, a temple devoted to Lord Shiva. It is the most important Hindu site in Nepal and pilgrims from all over the world come to show their faith.
Away from the city centre is the peaceful and impressive Bodhnath Stupa. Every day thousands of people descend daily to show their devotion and respect.

We drive west to Pokhara. The journey is breathtaking as we follow the gorge of the Trisuli River, passing by lush valleys, terraced rice fields and dramatic landscapes. Eventually we reach Pokhara, a quiet town nestled between the peaceful waters of Phewa Tal (Phewa Lake) and the spectacular Himalayan Annapurna Massif! The rest of the day is free to explore this laidback town. Hire a boat and relax on Phewa Tal, wander the streets of Old Pokhara or visit the Gurkha museum and discover the achievements of this world-renowned regiment.

We set out in the morning, taking a short drive to Nayapul before beginning our trek. The trail at first descends sharply to a bridge crossing the Burundi Khola. After crossing the river we will begin to ascend through bamboo forests to Tirkhadunga.

Following stone steps we gain height, heading towards the village of Ulleri. From here you will be able to see some interesting views of terraced fields sloping down to the river’s edge. Onwards and the trail passes through the visually beautiful rhododendron forests that are a famous part of trekking in Nepal.

Rise early to witness one of the highlights of this trek, the remarkable view from Poon Hill. The Himalayan panorama from here is unforgettable, as you will see the whole of the Annapurna range lit by the spreading light of dawn.
Day 7 – Tadapani to Syauli Bazaar (1170m) and drive to Pokhara
Impressive mountain scenery awaits you on this day of trekking as you pass along trails that cross the river and descend slowly to Syauli. We will then head back to Pokhara.
Day 08 – Return to Kathmandu
We return to Kathmandu arriving around midday. Wander around the medieval Durbar Square in the heart of the city, sample some Newari cuisine, or shop for some locally made handicrafts and souvenirs. We will have a farewell dinner in the evening at a local restaurant.
Day 9 – Fly Home
Lost Earth Adventures group services end after breakfast.
Transfers to the airport are complimentary. See you next time!

Optional Extras
Experience a breathtaking Mt Everest flight or explore a medieval city…

Nestled along a high ridgeline, rising above lush terraced fields and the Marsyangdi River Valley is the village of Bandipur. Rustic medieval buildings from the 18th century line the quiet, traffic free streets, as locals go about their daily lives. Steeped in Newari culture, Bandipur offers unrivalled panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manasalu and the Ganesh Himal mountain ranges.
There is plenty of opportunity to take short hikes around this scenic village. Walk to Thani Mal Temple or to Siddha Gufa, reputably Nepal’s largest cave! Alternatively spend the day discovering the hidden gems and temples of Bandipur and meeting the welcoming locals.
We spend the night in Bandipur in a restored Newari Mansion and make our way to Kathmandu the next afternoon.
The total cost to stay there for 2 people is £120. This includes the driver and guides accommodation and meals as well as your night in the mansion with breakfast. When you return to Kathmandu you could do the tour of Patan the same day but if you wanted to go to Bhaktapur and Nagarkot you would need an extra day in Kathmandu.
An Extra Night in Kathmandu or Pokhara
£50 per night in Kathmandu (without guide)
£65 per night in Pokhara (with guide). The guide would need to stay with you in Pokhara as he would be travelling back with you. However it is up to you whether you would require him to stay with you or give you some personal time.
