Suggested Tailor-Made Langtang Itineraries

There are dozens of trekking options in the Langtang and we’ve walked them all! Below are some suggestions, but we can provide whatever route you’d like to do. If what you’re seeing below is not what you’re after, just contact us with your requests, let us know how many days you’d like to be in the mountains, your fitness and experience, how many people are in your group and we’ll create the perfect holiday for you.

Option 1:

If you’d like to experience Helambu and Gosainkund but you’re not wanting such a hard trek or maybe you’re short on time, this is a great itinerary. You could do our standard set departure trek, then extend the trek from the day you arrive at Gosainkund Lakes. When the rest of the group goes back to Kathmandu via Chandanbari, you could head over the pass and walk all the way back to Kathmandu. Let us know if this is your wish and we can give you a price to have the extra guide for a few days.

  • 4×4 Jeep trip through the Himalayas from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,633m)
  • Trek from Syabrubesi to Changtang (2,410m)
  • Trek from Changtang to Langtang Village or Mondu (3,330m)
  • Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,860m). Option to see cascading glaciers or go in search of the elusive yeti!
  • Rest day or climb Kyanjin Ri (4,784m) or Tserko Ri (4,984m) and return to Kyanjin Gompa
  • Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Riverside (2,430m)
  • Trek from Riverside to Thulo Syaphru (2,210m)
  • Trek from Thulo Syaphru to Cholongpati (3,584m)
  • Trek from Cholongpati to Gosainkund Lakes (4,287m), cross the Laurebina La (4,610m), then down to Phedi (3,330m)
  • Trek from Phedi to Therapathi (3,510m)
  • Trek from Therapathi to Kutumsang (2,470m)
  • Drive from Kutumsang to Kathmandu

Option 2:

Short and sweet; for those with time constraints:

  • 4×4 Jeep trip through the Himalayas from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,633m)
  • Trek from Syabrubesi to Changtang (2,410m)
  • Trek from Changtang to Langtang Village or Mondu (3,330m)
  • Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,860m) and explore the area
  • Climb Kyanjin Ri (4,784m) and trek to Riverside (2,430m)
  • Trek from Riverside to Syabrubesi

Option 3:

If you’re fit, like big days, are fairly short on time and want to see the absolute best parts of the area, this is a fantastic trek that also encompasses Helambu and the Gosainkund region, you also avoid the drive back by walking all the way to Kathmandu:

  • 4×4 Jeep trip through the Himalayas from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
  • Trek from Syabrubesi to Changtang (2,410m)
  • Trek from Changtang to Langtang Village or Mondu (3,330m)

  • Trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang (2,470m)
  • Trek from Kutumsang to Chisopani (2,215m)
  • Trek from Chisopani to Kathmandu

Option 4:

If you’d like to see it all, as per option 3 but you’d like a more leisurely pace and you’re fortunate enough to have extra days then we recommend the following:
