Three Days of Wild Adventure in The Peak District
Moonscapes, Hidden Trails, Rock Gods and River Rambles
Action Packed Multi-Activity Bank Holiday Weekend in Derbyshire
We couldn’t cram more adventure into one Bank Holiday Weekend if we tried! If you’re looking to get out in the countryside, get high on the summit, get your heart pumping on the way down and escape the dredges of urban living, look no further. We’ve got an exciting, action packed adventure in the heart of Derbyshire this August Bank Holiday, that’s just the ticket.
The Peak District National Park, the UK’s first, packs a staggering amount of wild terrain in a relatively small area. Vast moorland merges with gritstone cliffs that dramatically jut out from the fields of heather, while dry stonewalls cut across the rolling hills and verdant forest, only interrupted by the quaint villages that dot the valley floors.
Over 3 days you’ll learn to cheat gravity as you climb to the top of the Peak District’s most iconic crag and realise that what goes up must eventually come down. Quite literally trying the ropes as you abseil back down to earth. The Peak District is a mecca for trail hounds searching for the next bit of single track or bridleway, and you won’t be disappointed, whether you’re a novice or a pro. The mountain biking is the best in the country, and the stunning scenery we ride through is icing on the cake. We’ll reach the highest summit in the Dark Peak, traversing by foot across its beguiling moon-scaped top, before descending along the Pennine Way. Finally we’ll snake our way up a remote gorge, scrambling, swimming and jumping our way through this Area of Outstanding Beauty.
Welcome to the Peak District, let the adventure begin!

Itinerary and Activities
All of our itineraries are meticulously researched and well planned. They are designed to give you the most amounts of fun and excitement, whilst also giving you ample time to relax. Lost Earth Adventures takes the hassle out of organising your trip, leaving you to sit back and enjoy your adventure!
Arrive on the Friday evening at the hostel. Be greeted by your leaders and enjoy a drink in the cosy lounge.
Fill up on a hearty full English or continental breakfast and get to know each other as we tackle the Peak District’s highest summit. Kinder Scout is an always charming, characterful challenge! On a good day from the top you can see as far as the rugged peaks of Snowdonia in Wales.
After a satisfying day of hiking, you can kick back and relax with a well-earned drink or explore the nearby woods and streams.
In the evening we’ll provide a hearty meal, after dinner relax by the wood fire or take a walk up to Peveril Castle for sunset.

In the morning we jump onto our knobbly tyred, rugged all mountain bikes, swiftly whisking us away into the countryside for some active cycling and muddy bums, while exploring quiet trails and bridleways. We’ll take a relaxed pace throughout the morning and have our qualified instructors on hand for those that want to learn some new skills and top tips.
Stanage Edge is a real beaut. She’s the longest, finest stretch of gritstone in the UK, stretching for over 4000m, a mere 20 minutes from Sheffield, home to hundreds of the best rock routes in the country and where legendary climbers became Rock Gods.
We’ll spend the morning climbing and abseiling at Stanage Edge, and enjoying the glorious views that can be seen from the crag. The quality of the routes means that there’s enough variety to keep first timer’s happy while also keeping the more experienced on their toes.

Whilst hiking, you will need to carry a small bag with a few items for the day. The terrain varies from footpaths to muddy ground and has a moderate level of ascents and descents. The walk will be 5-7 hours. The mountain biking is on dirt roads and bridleways in the countryside. There will be little ups and downs and is suitable for anybody that can ride a bicycle. If you are an experienced rider there are options to challenge yourself.
As with most things, a certain degree of fitness will make this trip more enjoyable. No previous experience is needed for any of the activities provided on this holiday.
