Durbar Square Kathmandu
Day 1 – Arrive in Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu, a chaotic, charming city! With a dizzying array of ancient temples and Holy Sadhus, vibrant markets and rickshaws, Kathmandu is a kaleidoscope of senses that will capture the imagination of any traveler!

You will have the afternoon free to explore the hidden back alleys and bustling markets! We’ll have dinner at a local restaurant in the evening.

Day 2 – The Ancient Temples of Kathmandu

Discover why the Kathmandu Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as we explore three incredible temples within the city. High on a hilltop above Kathmandu is the magnificent Swayambutinath (“Monkey Temple”), used by both Hindus and Buddhists and known for its many cheeky monkeys! Along the banks of the Bagmati River lies Pashupatinath, one of the biggest Shiva temples in the world and the most important Hindu site in Nepal. Away from the busy city centre is the peaceful and calming Bodnath Stupa. Here, Tibetans and pilgrims descend daily to show their faith and devotion.

Canyon swing
Day 3-4 – Journey to the Edge*

For adrenaline seekers, this place doesn’t disappoint! Bungee jump from a 160-metre tall suspension bridge towards the wild Bhote Kosi, swing from the world’s highest canyon swing and experience one of the longest free falls in the world, or abseil, jump and slide down steep canyon walls and waterfalls. The choice is yours.

For the next two days, we stay in luxury safari tents 12km from the Tibetan border. We’re surrounded by pristine forest and dense jungle on top of a dramatic gorge. After working up an appetite tuck into a tantalising array of fresh Nepali curries and Western fare. After, relax, swim in secret waterfalls or indulge in the plunge pool and sauna.

*Accommodation, food and canyoning is included in the tour price. However, any additional activities participated in (canyon swing, bungee jumping, etc) is not included and must be paid on location.

rafting nepal
Day 5-6 – Raft the raging rivers of Nepal

The first day, we run the Sun Kosi, honing our rafting technique and warming up for day two – the powerful Bhote Kosi!

Starting in Tibet at a height of over 8,000m from Shisha Pangma – the world’s 14th highest peak – the river gathers speed, strength and volume as it thunders its way through the Himalayas and into Nepal. We raft heart-pounding grade 3+ rapids on the Sun Kosi, reputed to be one of the top ten rafting trips in the world!

Steep, deep, and never ending grade 4/4+ rapids await us as we descend the intense and wild Bhote Kosi. Not for the faint of heart, this river is technically more demanding and commands the respect of its paddlers. The Bhote Kosi is unquestionably the most action-packed extreme white water in Nepal!

Choose to either raft the Bhote Kosi or paddle yourself in a kayak on the Sun Kosi. You can speak with our instructors and make your choice when we are out there.

Accommodation is at our secluded riverside camp surrounded by lush jungle and a white sand beach. It’s the perfect place to relax after a hard day of rafting.

Day 7 – The Ancient City of Patan

Spend a free morning in Kathmandu. Pick up some fresh baked treats or grab a cuppa from one of the rooftop terraces. We’ll spend the afternoon in Patan. It’s a city standing still in time, seeping with rich cultural history yet bustling with today’s energy. A place best explored by foot, we’ll walk the cobbled streets with over 600 stupas whilst discovering ancient pagoda temples. See why local people still call it by its original name, Lalitpur – the City of Beauty.

Twin Otter
Day 8 – The Road to Pokhara

We drive west, following the gorge of the Trisuli River. We continue past deep river valleys and terraced rice fields as we make our way to the lakeside town of Pokhara. Set amongst the foothills of the stunning Annapurna Massif, Pokhara is a breath of fresh air.

Day 9-12 – Downhill Mountain Biking in the Annapurna’s

We take a short but spectacular flight in a light aircraft and land in the remote town of Jomsom. The flight offers unparalleled views of Annapurna (8,091m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m), the world’s 10th and 7th highest peaks respectively. We continue via jeep to Muktinath – a breathtaking 3,700 metres above sea level. We are surrounded by rugged mountain landscapes and are deep into the heart of the Annapurnas. This is where we’ll begin the ultimate downhill!

We spend the next 4 days on one of the most exhilarating downhill rides in Nepal. We wind our way down steep single track, rarely used dirt trails and over suspension bridges perched high above the Kali Gandaki through the deepest gorge on earth. We continue our descent, surrounded by the Annapurna Massif and Dhaulagiri. Mountain biking doesn’t get more exhilarating than this! In the evenings, treat yourself to an ice-cold beer or a warming yak butter tea and tuck into a hearty, well-deserved meal. Accommodation is spent in local teahouses in remote villages that dot the paths we use.
Paragliding in Nepal
Day 13 – Paraglide to the Top of the World

Fly amongst eagles as you paraglide high above Pokhara. With the majestic Annapurna’s as your backdrop, this is one of the best places to paraglide in the world! And afterwards…

The day is yours, free to discover, experience and explore this wonderfully laid back town in your own way. Hire a boat and relax on the calm waters of Phewa Tal, ramble up to the World Peace Pagoda or treat yourself to a fresh lassi (traditional yoghourt-based drink) at one of Pokhara’s many restaurants.

Day 14 – Motorbike Through the Doorstep of the Himalayas*

Unleash your inner Road Warrior and feel the freedom of the bike. The riding around here is amazing! Explore the back-roads surrounding Pokhara and seek the winding mountain roads, lush valleys and seldom visited villages in the heart of the Himalayan foothills. This is a biker’s paradise and truly the road less travelled. Inexperienced riders can still enjoy the thrill of riding in the Himalayas by taking a course offered in Pokhara. *Motorcycling is not included in tour price and must be paid for on location.

Extreme Sports Holiday
Day 15 – Return to Kathmandu

We return to Kathmandu following the gorge of the Trisuli River, arriving in Kathmandu in the afternoon. Wander around the medieval Durbar Square in the heart of the city, sample some Newari cuisine or shop for some locally-made handicrafts and souvenirs.

We’ll have a group farewell dinner in the evening at a local restaurant.

Day 16 – Fly Home

Unfortunately, it’s the end of this adventure. Lost Earth Adventures group services end after breakfast. Transfers to the airport are complimentary. See you next time!
