Edale Skyline Challenge

Take to the hills to the skyline surrounding Edale!

Rewards include: pleasantly aching legs and a fantastic sense of achievement.

Group of Hikers Scotland
Take in the Dark Peak’s highest ridges, trails and summits. A classic circular route, it covers over 21 miles and ascends almost 1400m! The route is fantastically varied and takes you over rocky, grassy and flagstone trails. To make sure it is really an authentic experience, a little bit of the world-famous Peak District Bog is also thrown in for good measure.

The route starts and ends in Edale, convenient for both accommodation and celebratory dinners. During the course of the day, you will conquer Ringing Roger, Win Hill, Mar Tor and Brown Knoll, and enjoy postcard views of the picturesque Edale Valley. Undoubtedly, this challenge has everything you will need for a superb day out!

Support Vehicles

We recommend and can provide support vehicles for large groups but for smaller groups it’s more economical and just as convenient to rely on the taxis and trains in the area. If a member of the party does not want to continue at any point there are a number of opportunities to exit the route and go back to the start after 2 miles (3km), 6 miles (10km), 10 miles (16km) or 17 miles (27km) using taxis (roughly £30) or a train (roughly £3).

You don’t need a support vehicle for a big group but it is more convenient, easier to manage and provides a better service, so we’ve listed the price above and you can make your own decision. Please give us a call if you would like more clarity. The support vehicle is provided from 11am to 6pm and provides pick ups. Most larger groups that want water and food drops have volunteers or spouses that either give the items to the support vehicle at 11am or follow the vehicle to the meeting points to dish out the goodies. If you don’t have any volunteers, friends or family members helping out and you want water or food stored in the vehicle, we can arrange this for you but there will be an extra cost of £150 for the vehicle to arrive at 7am instead off 11am.

For large groups we can supply waterproofs and packed lunches so that you can simply turn up and enjoy the event. All of these things must be pre-arranged with us at least 2 weeks prior to the challenge.
