This one day course is ideal for corporate clients who wish to grow as a team. We tailor the day to suit your needs from a range of outcomes such as leadership, communication, team work, problem solving, planning and reviewing.
The day will start with a briefing by one of our highly trained facilitators where you will learn the basics of navigation as well as receive all of the information required for the day. We will also give you the opportunity to get to know your team a little better by organising a couple of icebreakers, perfect if your group don’t know each other very well, as well as get you motivated and mentally prepared for the team challenges during the course. Our expert staff will be on hand to make sure that you get the most out of the day and you achieve the goals and aims that you have set prior to the course.
The group will be responsible for planning their route around the course with the supervision of a facilitator, with the aim of getting to each checkpoint working well as a team. The team will try to work as efficiently as possible on each task at the checkpoints to get around the course in a good time. At each checkpoint there will be a task that will need to be completed as a team to move onto the next checkpoint, each task can be tailored to suit the theme for the day such as communication, leadership or problem solving. The team that makes it back to the start first will be declared the winners.
The tasks are a mix of fun, competition and problem solving – your facilitator will ensure that you are challenged as a team at each one whilst making sure you get around the course safely. Planning and reviewing will be essential to succeed on this course and to get as much as possible from the different scenarios your team will be in. Lost Earth Adventures instructors and facilitators have a breadth of knowledge when it comes to team building which you are sure to see during these activities. At the end of the challenge course a full debrief with review will take place to discuss what went well and could be changed.
After the team has reviewed the orienteering and team challenge course and had lunch there will be the opportunity to try abseiling. The abseil is optional but we encourage everybody to give it a go, it’s a great way to stretch your comfort zone as well as support your friends, colleagues and team mates. The abseil will be set up and run by our experienced instructors who will show you exactly how to abseil as well as helping you down the whole way. Depending on the location of the course we will also set up a rock climb that you can try, again with an expert instructor to keep you safe and give you some hints and tips on climbing technique.
