2011 sure ended on a high!
On our last trek of the season to the remote and beautiful Langtang Valley we were met with nothing but blue skies, crisp mountain air and the inspiring flutter of prayer flags in the wind. Beginning in the charming streets of Kathmandu, we soon headed off to the trek’s starting point, north of the chaotic capital.
Within a few days we reached Kiangin Gompa, a breath taking 3800m above sea level and surrounded by a magnificent mountain vista. With determination we departed from our ‘normal’ route, taking on an exciting detour to the holy Gosaikunda Lakes, before trekking back down to the Kathmandu Valley.
