The Annapurna Circuit

One of the World’s Classic Walks

From £1595-£1695, 15 days – Both set Departures and Private Expeditions Available

Trekking Annapurna Circuit

The Annapurna Circuit is an absolute classic trek, a perennial favourite, and for good reason. It is a journey full of surprises around every corner and encompasses the very best of what Nepal has to offer.

You will be walking amongst giants, along ancient footpaths, used for centuries as passageways into a Himalayan wonderland. The trek begins in the fertile lowlands, the foothills of the highest mountain range in the world. Pass through verdant yak pastures and terraced hillsides before ascending into the alpine. Cross the magnificent Thorung La, a remote high altitude pass and be rewarded with panoramic views of the Annapurna’s, Manaslu and the Dhauligiri massif. The western slopes brings us into the deepest gorge on earth and into the sacred Muktinath Valley, a pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Experience unsurpassable natural and cultural diversity as you trek through the Himalaya, stopping off at some of the best local teahouses in Nepal.

IMPORTANT: Through the duration of the entire tour you will only have to carry a small day pack, porters will be transporting your larger bags between lodges. We stay in comfortable lodges and guesthouses with warm showers and western style toilets (in most lodges).

Trip Grading

Trekking Holiday Nepal

This trip is considered to be challenging. We spend time at higher altitudes than you are probably used to. We go to fairly remote regions of Nepal where infrastructure and services are limited. We use 2 guides for this trip – a highly qualified and experienced western leader along with a Nepalese trekking guide.

We appreciate that in a group there will be many different speeds of walker and we don’t ever want you to feel like you are holding up a group or being held up. Having plenty of guides and porters allow for us to change itineraries and pace easily.

Travelling to Nepal

You will need a passport with 6-month’s validity and you will need to obtain a Nepalese visa. The easiest way to get the visa is to buy it on entry to Nepal with either dollars or any major currency but not Nepali Rupees. Currently the cost for a single-entry visa valid for 15/30/90 days costs US$25/40/100. You can buy a visa in advance from the Neplese embassy in your home country if they have a location there. It is more expensive than buying it on arrival in Kathmandu and it doesn’t always save you time when you arrive as it is random which queue is longer. You also have to risk sending your passport off and they may take it for several weeks. You will need to buy travel insurance for your trip which you can find out about here. You also need to visit your GP or travel health professional at least 4-6 weeks before your trip to check what vaccinations you need.

For more information about travelling safely and obtaining passports you can see more at the FCO know before you go Travel Aware Campaign.
