Things to Do and Active Days Out
Looking for something to do in Yorkshire? You’ve found the right place. From a spare afternoon in the North York Moors to a full weekend or week in the Yorkshire Dales, from small groups to large school groups, from novices to experienced adventurers, you’ll have the experience of a lifetime in God’s Own Country.
Yorkshire 3 Peaks
It’s the iconic Yorkshire walking challenge. For charity, for fun, for friends. You’ll reach Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent in a day. Or make a weekend of it and take in all rural Yorkshire has to offer in our Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge Weekend. Let’s do this!
Cave | Abseil | Climb | Gorge Walk | Canyon | High Ropes | Zip Line
Go MAD with us either in the Eastern or Western Yorkshire Dales. Choose between three and five activities. Defy, discover, conquer, just have fun. This is adventure!
Gorge Walking and Canyoning
Explore an ancient gorge naturally formed over thousands of years. Encounter giant rock chutes, huge jumps and an epic waterfall climb or go on an ultimate canyoning adventure in the Western Yorkshire Dales. Locations in Nidderdale and near Ingleton.
Explore deep underground networks, one of the last frontiers on Earth. Suitable for all levels, our caving activities range from discovering huge cavernous spaces with lots of space to tight spaces and extreme passageways. Try your hand at vertical caving for that extra spice.
Take on the best rocks, crags and cliffs the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors has to offer. From technical routes at Almscliffe to the strange gritstone formations at Brimham Rocks. Other locations include Ilkley Cow and Calf, Twistleton Scar and even Cadshaw Quarry in Lancashire.
Abseiling from mountains
Learn, develop and hone your skills at Brimham Rocks, great for both small and large groups. Conquer your fears and experience the rush of rappelling down a vertical face. Abseiling can be bolted on to a half-day rock climbing and we can abseil from crags, mountains and even sea cliffs.
We bring the ropes to you in this exciting bespoke challenge. Perfect for charities, hen and stag dos as well as larger groups, all you need to do is choose the building you want to abseil from and we’ll do the rest to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.
Visit our secret Lake nestled well off the beaten path as you master the art of the open canoe or kayak. Saunter up and down the lake or get serious with our skills courses and training sessions to pass your Open Canoe Award.
Yorkshire has some of the best mountain biking routes in the UK. Try Dalby Forest’s World Cup route for technical tracks or take in soaring vistas at Swainby or Pateley Bridge. Our sessions are for all ages and abilities, from beginner to instructor.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding
Join in the fun of Stand UP Paddle Boarding, or SUP on the gloriously serene Secret Lake. Our instructors help you gather skills quickly. Start on your stomach and work onto your feet, sauntering along this peaceful lake is a truly serene experience.
Navigation is a life skill which means it stays with you for life. Yorkshire is a big place and hiking, climbing, biking or doing any activity can be dangerous. This course teaches children and youths essential map-reading, navigational skills and much more.
Challenges for Charity
Get the blood pumping and the donations pouring in with one of our bespoke charity challenges. The Yorkshire 3 Peaks is a famous charity event, but we can arrange any type of outdoor charity challenge for you. From abseils, walks, hikes, multi-activity days and more, let us help your cause.
